In order to help fund the start-up and ongoing operation of the Engineering e-Academy, a membership model has been adopted.
The first year membership has been set at £300 and a member will receive the following:
- 2 free places on one of the e-Academy's 1 day e-learning adoption workshops
- Monthly e-bulletin featuring e-learning best practice within the education and work based learning sector
- Free access to the Engineering e-Academy member suite of e-modules for 50 users
- Moving & Handling Objects
- Moving Loads by Slinging and Lifting
- 5S Essentials
- Welding Safety
- Identifying Engineering Materials
- Fire Safety
- 20% discount on all the Engineering e-Academy e-modules
- Affiliate code to get10% commission on any product sales stimulated via the member..
We believe that this is excellent value for money - for an organisation that only takes up the 50 people through the membership suite of e-modules then this cost represents an excellent return at just £1 per course. This is a really useful way to capture CPD evidence.
Furthermore, the affiliate scheme creates a route to generate additional revenue through commission on sales that are promoted through a member's website or other marketing activity.
As part of the on-going growth strategy of the e-Academy a proportion of the membership fees will be used to fund product development and marketing activity. Clearly, as new modules are developed and further services introduced the membership fee will have to be reviewed and adapted to ensure sustainability. This will be a function of costs and membership take-up.
Both Virtual College and EAL are committed to ensuring consistent high levels of customer satisfaction. In order to create continued growth and achieve ongoing sustainability, it is of paramount importance that Engineering e-Academy membership demonstrates excellent value for money.
