Housing Governance: The Regulatory Framework for Arms Length Management Organisations (ALMOs)
Course Overview
Local authorities, ALMOS (Arms Length Management Organisations) and Housing Associations are sometimes referred to as social housing providers, which means that they aim to provide housing at reasonable rents for those in housing need who are often unable or unwilling to purchase their own homes. Like most organisations social housing providers have objectives which they have to meet. The key to success in achieving these goals is the way these social housing providers are governed. To be well governed requires an effective Board or Management Committee to over see the running of the housing organisations
