In time the Engineering e-Academy will provide a solution to a complete range of engineering qualifications. This solution may include online e-portfolio development for NVQs, podcasts for continous professional development and e-assessments, as well as supporting blended delivering involving a careful selected mixture of both online and offline delivery.

In the first phase of the e-Academy development we are focusing on short courses that can be delivered completely online. This may provide a good route for mandatory training such as Health & Safety, Moving and Handling etc, as well as modules covering chunks of underpinning knowledge to support the delivery of NVQs.

Our short e-modules are structured so that they can be delivered online and feature a range of interactive challenges and assessments. Progression is tracked within the e-Academy's virtual learning environment (VLE). On completion of the e-module the learner can then progress to an online e-assessment. If the learner passes the e-assessment then the system will automatically generate an Engineering e-Academy certificate.
